Artist statement
My work revolves around the complexity of the human body—a protective armor that connects us, shields us, yet also reveals our vulnerability. This tension between strength and fragility lies at the heart of my artistic practice. Through the medium of photographic etchings, or photogravures, I bring a tangible dimension to my images, where craftsmanship and experimentation intersect.
The process, from digital image to intaglio print, underscores the physical impact of art. It allows me not only to depict but also to experience damage, pain, and uncertainty during creation. This journey mirrors the human condition: imperfect, yet imbued with beauty and meaning. With my work, I aim to invite viewers to reflect on how we perceive, experience, and value the body. Through the stories I tell, I hope to evoke a sense of recognition and connection.
